For guidelines on management of traumatic injuries (beyond the Brown Trauma Handbook), I highly recommend referring to the EAST Practice Management Guidelines.
For surgical techniques in trauma Top Knife is an easy to read book with tips from experts to make difficult approaches easier.
For updates on different surgical topics, I recommend checking out the Surgical Clinics of North America. It is available on the Brown Library via ClinicalKey
The Following are older references for management of different injuries:
Management of external penetrating injuries into the hypopharyngeal-cervical esophageal funnel. Stanely et al
Vascular exposure in abdomen: Two articles in Surgical Clinics of North America not available online, but can be found in Brown Sciences Library on Thayer Street – Hoyt et al and Asencio et al. Of course, you may also sign up to ASSET course that we offer at Brown by contacting Leslie on APC4 or checking the American College of Surgeons website.
Delivering bad news: Giving bad news: the family perspective. Jurkovich et al
Below are some videos or links that I found useful, informative, or inspiring.
